Description
The petroglyphs in the volcanic tablelands of the Owens Valley were carved about 8800 years ago by an unknown culture that may or may not have been the ancestors of todays Paiute-Shoshone Indians. The meaning of this rock art is unclear, but its creators obviously had something important to say or they would not have taken the effort to chisel these symbols into the hard rock.
Being alone under the starry skies at such a sacred and magic place, made me feel the presence of the spirits of its ancient creators and the slight breeze that was blowing gave me the goosebumps.
