Description
This is a complicated one:
As winter is approaching, the nights are getting longer, but the night sky in this vertorama is nevertheless way too long. The image shows the Milky Way core and Orion together in the sky, which is physically impossible. What's therefore the matter with this image?
During October New Moon, I captured the setting Milky Way core as a vertical panorama which extended upwards to include the constellation Cygnus near the zenith.
When finished, I moved to other locations, but after 4 hours, I returned to the original spot and captured Orion rising over the mountains in the opposite direction of the rising core earlier.
As I am a fan of colorful Cygnus, I extended the vertical panorama again to include this part of the sky. This allowed me to stitch the two panoramas to produce a 'vertorama' that includes enough sky to show both the galaxtic center and Orion.
Wouldn't it be awesome if we could actually see such a thing in reality?
