Actually my plan was to shoot nightscapes on Grimsel, a high mountain pass in Switzerland. Unfortunately, after a 3 hours drive, I found the place covered in heavy fog. Too bad, but things like this can happen in a high alpine environment.
Instead of returning home empty handed, I decided to cross two more high mountain passes and, after another 2 hours of driving, I arrived at Cresta Lake, right at sunset.
Not the most straightforward trip, but in hindsight well worth the effort. Too bad that I did not bring along my trunks.
As a landscape photographer and pilot I have the privilege to travel the world and visit some of the most beautiful places on our planet. I started photography as an astro-photographer, which still shows in my passion for nightscapes. While not exclusively shooting at night, a big part of my work shows the beauty of the starry night skies in combination with some iconic landscapes. Thanks for visiting my gallery.
