Artist's Description
Wildkirchli (English: Wild Chapel) are three interlinked caves situated in the Alpstein massif in the Appenzell Innerrhoden canton of Switzerland. The caves are located at a height of 1,477–1,500 m (4,846–4,921 ft). They are notable for the traces of Paleolithic Neanderthal habitation, dating to c. 40,000 BP, and cave bear bones dating to 90,000–40,000 BP.
Just a few steps from the caves lies the Gasthaus Aescher, a 170-year-old guesthouse built into the cliff. In 2015 Aescher became very famous, because it was chosen as the cover of National Geographics "Destinations of a Liftime" book.

As a landscape photographer and pilot I have the privilege to travel the world and visit some of the most beautiful places on our planet. I started photography as an astro-photographer, which still shows in my passion for nightscapes.
